Head sink drain replacement to the through hull valve- 2019

This project we have been going to do for seven years! When we originally had the boat surveyed for purchase, the surveyor said the original setup with the plastic pipes had to be changed out for flexible tubing.
June 2019 -We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)

This is how the drain was.
It did work ok and so why change it??
Well, it stopped working all that great as odors were coming from it.
No cleaning would fix it. So..
The actual drain from the sink. You can see some silicon on the lazarett. That was under the sink drain. I discovered I had the rubber seals on wrong😜 So when we got it working I had flipped around the rubber seals and no need for the silicon.
We purchased a bronze adaptor at SYS Chandlery here in Paradise Village Marina and a couple hose barbs. The hose barbs are 1 1\4 inch.
This setup made the distance to the sink shorter but we had no choice.
We are lucky to get supplies here in Mexico so quickly

Short hose run means not much room to bend the hose.
The vessel sink drain we installed. We decided to cut the drain shorter
so we would have more room to install the hose.
Looking through the hole in the sink.
I used the Dremel to cut the drain.

There is about one foot between the hose barbs, including the barbs.

First we tried 1 1\4 white sanitary hose but the bends were too close together.
Then we tried this 1 1\4 black reinforced hose but would not go onto the hose barbs. I even tried to grind down the barbs on one hose barb but no go.

Just could not get it on and it started collapsing
Finally we went with this 1 1\2 vacuum-cleaner type hose.
With the through hull valve open the sea water does not reach the hose.
When heeling to starboard it might.

I had to use some silicone to help seal the ends of the hose on the hose barbs.
There is no pressure on the hose.
