Debbie mixing up the epoxy 4 to 1 part hardener
August 2011 - - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA
The epoxy does not smell which is real nice.
Ya! We got the first glass down in the refer! Yep that says to me we are nearing the easier fun part of painting and hooking up the refer components. Even glassing is not bad compared to the other work we have been doing.
I stopped by Fiberlay and got some quick dry hardener for the epoxy. It sets up quicker and will work better in the underside of the top. We also used it for the bottom.
Brown paper template.
We put down a fiber glass mat first then put the glass tape around the edges.
The heavy cloth is the bottom piece.
A couple pieces of glass cloth tape we cut.
The glass cloth tape we used on the bottom was one long piece which over leaped in the back. Cut slightly on each side in the corners so it will wrap.
Debbie first cut a couple templates and then we cut some cloth. Then we will put one more piece of glass mat down over the tape,
The cloth for the bottom is real thick and so strong. We will put two layers of that on the bottom. Just in case you drop a bowling ball into the refer it will not damage it J The lighter cloth will go everywhere else. We will do the same for the freezer side. The freezer side is not quite ready yet for glassing.
Cloth ready for epoxy.
Epoxy on glass cloth and Debbie putting epoxy on the glass tape.
Done, can hardly see it here.
