8\13\2011 San Diego, CA
We tried to open the hatch over the bed and sleep with it open a bit. It was something we have not done before. I had always thought it would be real nice to look at the stars as we are lying in bed and contemplating the philosophy of the world. Seems in San Diego this is not a reality. While in PV Mexico it gets dark and quiet even in that big city and say in Golfito Costa Rica, we know it gets real dark and quiet at night, it just does not here. The light from the city obscures the stars for the most part and the outside noises (especially the airport) are not comforting to go to sleep with. We turn in about 9:00 PM and the airport does not stop its flights till 10:00 PM. No flights from 10:00 pm Till 6:00 am. That is nice but still.

The hatches that we completely re-built are ocean going heavy hatches. They really reduce the noise and with the Skyscreen closed it further reduces the sound and completly blocks the light. So we are back to that.
