Achilles dinghy cleats and stern chocks - 2013

October 2013 - Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
Positing the cleats.
The line is for the upper dinghy hoist for the davits,it is a test line to position the cleats.

We put two SS cleats on the inside stern of our Achilles LSI-310E 10'.2" dinghy. Then we added two chocks to the top edge to keep any line from rubbing on the Honda 9.9 hpoutboard engine or the DaNard dingy wheels. This will help next tine we stern anchor Sands Hotel in Bahia de Navidad for example or tying to a dock or towing etc.
Got the cleats bolted on. through bolted. Used 3M 4000 along with some bolts of course.
Cleats on with the acorn nuts on after the regular nuts on the out side.
You can see the chalks on the top.
Note:
We thought the chocks would be facing for us to tow. They are but we have only towed one thing and that was towing the Ocean Kayak Malibu Two. So we should have had them facing the other way because we mostly use them when tying to a dock We tried to remove the chocks and the sealant was so strong on the stern we decided to leave them the way they are.
Before the acorn nuts. These bolts will not need cutting off.

These new lifting point bolts will need cutting off. They are for lifting the dinghy when there is a motor on it. We had taken these off and put them lower. That way we can raise the dinghy higher on the davits. It makes it a bit unstable with the more on it so we got two more lifting eyes and put them back on, at the top for lifting when the motor is on. Confused 😀?
