Did not need to fix the door latch part on the door. Only need to loosen it. The latch should land on the door stop flat. Then tighten it.
Did more fill and drill on the door latch this weekend. Got it installed. Of course it is not 100 percent. Got the holes filled and sanded and painted. The color is close but not a match. The n re-installed the latch on the stoop. A piece of gel coat chipped off with one screw. The one that shows and so I will need to fill it. No big deal. After I go the top two screws in it I tried to drill the hole for the bottom one but the drill would not fit. I have an idea for that fix that I will try this week. It does work and will do the job oh holding the door. Drilling all three holes at once was too hard. You need to hold the latch in place then mark it and that was not easy.

It is much more of a pin in the ass than I realized having the head door flopping around without a latch. Need to time it so it can be done quickly. We put a couple small boxes on the floor to keep the door from flopping around That further reduced the floor space. Having to move them each time you need to use the toilet gets to be a pain.
