Anchored here in Caleta de Campos overnight and getting ready to up anchor. When we arrived some locals swam out, climbed partway up the bridle and welcomed us. We knew the other vessel anchored here - the trimaran s/v Bonzer! We thought about going ashore but the swells are too big for a safe beach landing! Our flopper stopper gave us a good night's sleep.
Another time we anchored here in 2015 on the way back from Zihuatanejo.
Not for the faint-of-heart especially in a swell and we would not go in at night.
That's about where we anchored. We have not seen it this calm when we have been there😕
Looking at the far shore at anchor. Not much protection here from the swells.
When we have headed South from Santiago we have gone right to Zihuatanejo doing a couple overnights and a few days passage. It has been on the way back up North that we have stopped here. That is when the swells are usually coming from the South\SW or so and they come right in here. At the beginning of the Winter they are more from the NW and that would be better for this anchorage INHO.
