Almost done with the port caprail prep - 2019

Almost done with the prep. In fact, today we finished off the last bit. Tomorrow morning at daybreak, we will wash the cap rail with Te-Ka and when the caprail dries, we will put on the first coat of 50\50 varnish which was sanded with the #80 grit sandpaper. No more bubbling. Also, varnish breathes where Cetol does not so that should help.

Then we went to a couple of garden parks and then to the square with all the government buildings. Quite nice.  Even got my "Keen" sandals fixed at a cobbler!  No "Gringo's" here at all!

While anchored we are preparing the cap rail, eyebrows and companionway for varnish - 2019

To get a start on the the deck teak varnishing we are starting to strip the old Sikkens Cetol from the cap rail, eyebrows and companion way. I do like the wood as it softens the boat from all the fiberglass and stainless steel. Makes it more "homey" (if that is the word).
It ia a labor of love😍
