We broke down and decide to get a TelCel Banda Ancha Movil card for our PC.
To the far
left is an ice store. People drive up ob bicycles with ice chests and motor
scooters with ice chests and three wheel bicycles etc and get crushed ice pumped
into bags and into the ice chests. They then bungey the bags on top of the
chest.
Next to that and behind the car is the TelCel store. Next to that is a Loncheria (lunch counter). Next to that and you can see Debbie walking to it is a Abarote (groceries).
Debbie and I went to the local TelCel store in Melaque and I asked for the Banda Ancha card and the girl knew what I was talking about. That was the end of my Spanish and the girl did not know English but was a real nice go get’em type of person. Debbi took over and they got it going as Debbie’s Spanish is getting better all the time. It helps there is no password or login needed.
The girl in the store called
TeCel and set the card (stick) up. We went back to the boat and turned off the
Acer PC. Put the stick in the USB port and booted Windows 7 The Card asked to be
installed and we said sure. That was it. We now get the internet at the boat.
Not fast enough to upload videos to YouTube but it does OK with pictures.
However you pay by the byte. We got 3 gigs to start with and we shall see how
it goes.
