Debbie picked this pump up at West Marine as Marine
Exchange did not have this model.
Extreme Series Smart Sensor
Model # 4900-0211 Aftermarket
3-year warranty
SHURflo 5.7 extreme water pump to SHURflo SMART SENSOR
4.0 freshwater pump
We also purchased the extended warranty on this item. It is used every day and it is a critical part of the boat. It will now be under warranty for six years. No matter what happens to it they SHURflo or WM will replace it. We will have the old rebuilt 5.7 for back up while we would wait for a replacement.
The water pump was a bit more involved than we had anticipated.
First, we removed the old new 5.7 pump and then removed the old Islander
Freeport original plumbing, the gray plastic plumbing.
Nice to have some room to work.
Nice to have plenty of light to work with.
We cleaned up the threaded ends of the bronze pipe fittings
and were ready to start the re-plumbing.
Splurged for heat shrink solder less terminal ends.
We laid out both
pumps on the lazarette and right off noticed the mounting holes were different.
Then the plumbing is different. OK even the physical size of the pump's id
different. So, it is like a new install. The good part is the engineering is all
done. We know the location and the wiring is there.
Water tanks connected.
Pump instated.
No strainer this time. We are not sure if we are going to install one or not. It will take some more plumbing as the strainer for the 5.7 pump does not hook up to this 4.0 pump. We can still make it work but need to purchase a bracket and some ore elbows. Let's wait and see how we like this pump and setup.
We also replaced the broken breaker for the water pressure at the nave station.
