When we bought the boat there was a Garhauer Marine Lifting Davit(motor lift) on board. It had been modified to put the out board into the starboard lazarett. The bottom SS tubing had been replaced with a piece of aluminum short tubing.
We have the same Garhauer Marine Lifting Davit from out Catalina 30 days and so now we have two. Hmmm.
We are going to rig up a stern stairs lift and lower with the tackle for the PO motor lift.
Blocks and Tackle
We removed the tackle and plan on using it to pull the stern stairs up out of the water when we leave
on the dingy. That way they do not bounce around in the water. No need for
floats or such.
To try this out we
plan on picking up some PVC pipe and string it across the davits as a test system.
