Starboard cap rail varnish finished...for now - 2020

This is the last of three coats I put on with a different brand of varnish, Epifanes clear varnish . This was the hard part for both caprails, now just a couple coats here and there to replace what the sun takes. No removing anything and hardly any taping required!.

March 2020 - We are currently anchored in Las Hadas in Manzanillo Bay, Mexico
Looks good!😁
To do this, first I had to rip out the old caulking, not easy. It was leaking. Stripping the cap  rail of the Sikkens Cetol. Then sanding it. Then cleaned it with Te-Ka . Then sanded it again.  Then applied a few coats of Pettit FLAGSHIP VARNISH varnish. Then after many months sanding and putting on a few coats of Epifanes clear varnish. I removed the rub strakes and taping the rest of the hardware.
Now I will periodically add a couple coats that the sun wears off. No removing hardware and little taping required.
I started at sunup. Got things ready and before the sun hit the cap rail I got started.
A few flying ants got stuck in the varnish so that will require a touch up in a couple of places.
Missed one small spot but that will get a touch up also.
You can not see the touch ups so that is nice.
Done!
