Replaced the CQR anchor shackles and swivel - 2019

We replaced the 5\8" shackle, the 1\2" shackle and the Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel.
November 2019 - Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta
This is the 5\8" shackle we had cut off the CQR anchor. Each time I moved it, rust would fall out.
It does look ok but we could not see the pin and it was welded on. This has been on the CQR anchor for decades so it will not hurt to replace it.
The old Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel and 1\2" inch shackle.
They still look in good shape after seven years of anchoring (hundreds of times)..
The 5\8" shackle that was on the CQR and the new 5\8" Titan high strength shackle are both too big for the Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel to fit on, plus once they are welded on we could not replace the  Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel if needed. So we added the TITAN–Galvanized 1\2" Bow (Anchor) High-Strength Shackle as the previous owner had done.
We purchased two high strength shackles. We got the last 5\8" Titan high strength shackle from Zaragoza Chandlery that they had. They must have mispriced it as we paid less than 1\4 as much as the West Marine price.
We also got the last TITAN–Galvanized 1\2" Bow (Anchor)
High-Strength Shackle from SYS Chandlery (Jorge).
Both are over size and really are not needed but we will be hanging on the hook for months on end at various places so go big, I say! Same physical size but the black pin one is stronger than the Titan yellow pin ones.
The Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel - 2200 lbs has a little surface rust but is otherwise fine. We decided to get new ones for both the CQR and Bruce as this one has been used for the last eight years, a lot. The Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel - 2200 lbs and 1\2" and 5\8" shackles are rated stronger than out 3\8" Acco chain.
We had the machine shop cut off the end of the 5\8" Titan high strength shackle as it was catching on the bow roller. The 45 lb CQR anchor came with the boat and came with the shackle welded on with no end on the pin.
5\8" Titan high strength shackle with end of the pin cut off and welded on both sides.
Moused on the 1\2" shackle pin with stainless steel wire.
On the right of the chain bracket is a place for hanging the chain stopper for our BBB 3\8 Acco chain. On the port is a hanger for the chain stopper plate. We added these to our new chain roller so they would not be banging around the anchor locker or getting lost in the gear. We also have them tethered.
I painted up the welds with metal paint to keep the rust off.
On our Bruce anchor we replaced the stainless steel smaller shackle with a 1\2" TITAN–Galvanized Bow (Anchor) Shackles
The Galvanized are stronger than the stainless steel ones. It fit perfectly. We also added a new Chicago 3/8" Jaw & Eye Swivel. The picture shows the old swivel from the CQR but we were just fitting it. We will test the Bruce in a day or so to see how it comes up over the bow roller. We may need to do the same as the CQR and have it cut and welded.
