The choice at Costco was for the hard shell or this brand in cloth type. This was a bit more expensive but weighs a bit less and had more pockets. It has a couple of zipper pockets on the outside which is convenient for us to have good access to an item or two without having to open the suitcase.
Our old High Sierra was given to us and weighs 12 lb. Our new carry on weighs about 6 lbs so that gives us a lot more weight (6.0 lb's) and more room. We got use from the one given to us but it is past time to move on to something newer.
