Being tired of taping our two Marinco 30 amp power chords together
to reach the dock box power so we decided to spring for a sealing collar.
February 2019 - We are
currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
We replaced our shore power plug in the cockpit with a Marinco shore power inlet and have two Marinco 30 amp 50' shore power chords.
We went up to the SYS chandlery (Jorge) and he had a couple of (probably used, no packaging😉) Marinco sealing rings (connector) here at Paradise Village Marina. He also gave me another long sleeve white T-shirt with all his info...schwag!
Now no more taping the plugs together to make one chord.
We simple screw them together and we have a water-tight strong seal!

A couple reasons we like two power chords is that if we get a slip with a port tie (our shore power plug is on the starboard side) our shore power chords will reach easily. We do try for starboard tie if we can get one.
Another reason is when we leave the dock we can leave the power chord that is connected to the boat in place and just disconnect the dock side chord and it makes it quick and easy to go for a day sail.
Also when we are at anchor we can just put out the white chord and it is pre-setup for reaching the spot at the bow where we place the Honda EU 2000i generator.
Plus you get this plug so the end of the power chord, the plug stays protected when not in use. Good for day sailing as the salt water will not affect the plug while it is attached to the life lines.
