Go as far south as time
allows before heading to a hurricane hole or sailing up the Sea of Cortés
We do not know nor do
we want to know how far we will get down the Mexican Riviera coast before it is
time to head to a hurricane hole. It is a new life and we are not in any hurry.
What we do not see the first time we can go back again, and again if we want.
For now we are trying to decide on a plan for hurricane season. If we decide
and make reservations in a marina we can save some serous cash if we do this in
advance.
We have looked at
sailing across the Sea of Cortés (Gulf
of California) to La Paz for hurricane season. This seems fun
but La Paz seems expensive.
Paradise Village Marina in Puerto Vallarta seems like a good
choice for us. And then there is always the music :).
We are still considering where this part of the year will
lead us.
I've been following your blog for a long time now. Great info. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWe are currently in Paradise Marina. It's a great place to spend the season.
So as not to get bored we work with my parents on their new TV travel series "Travel Secrets Mexico". The episode about La Cruz is complete and on the website: travelsecretsmexico.com. La Cruz is also in Banderas Bay and has a nice marina but in my opinion too far from downtown Puerto Vallarta - which we love!
By the way, my parents are cruisers as well and we lived in San Diego (in Carlsbad) nearly 20 years after emigrating from Germany by sailboat.
The video featured on the Paradise Village Marina website (scroll down on the homepage) will be part of the next episode about Nuevo Vallarta. And if you search through the vidos on on TSMs YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/TravelSecretsMexico) you will find some music by Latcho and Andrea!
We look forward to meeting you when you get down here!
Best,
Verena & Mike
