We moved my breathing machine (ResMed CPAP) to the cabinet above the bed. We have a 1978 Freeport and 180 and above I think do not have this cabinet if you wonder what I am talking about.
The machine fits snug
but is very workable and I have tried it out and it is a nice location. This
machine runs off 110 volts and (without the humidifier) it will run on 12
volts.
The red wires you see are for the reading lights we were setting up also - another story
Under the bead, mattress.
To wire this up to 110 volts we had to buy a snake. We tried
various other means but eventually gave up as the dorad hose is a tight fit in
the hole that Islander Yachts made for the dorad hose to fit through.
With the
new snake it was a bit of a struggle but we got the wire up through alongside
the dorad hose without puncturing the dorad hose. The dorad hose goes down into
the bilge.
The ResMed CPAP machine is easy to turn off and on and not hard to
fill the water container for the humidifier.
12 volt adapter not yet in place.
To run it on 12 vot I disconnect the humidifier (not hard)
and plug in the 12 volt adapter.
This still needs to be wired up and we will wire it to the head
T fuse block. We just ordered the wire for this. It has been a while deciding a
good location and a pain at anchor setting up the 12 volt cable.
This setup we can tweak a bit by securing the dorad hose up a bit higher etc but it works great and may not need any further work on the location.
