We finished off the stateroom Caframo fan replacement project and the new Caframo Sirocco fan and it works good however the project was more involved than we thought. No surprise as it is a boat project!

We had to cut out some more teak bulkhead following Islander Yachts (the boat builder) lead because we could not replace the existing wires. The existing wiring runs inside the molding and then into, behind the headliner which we did not want to disturb. The molding is screwed and plugged and the headline could rip. The wires are stuck some place we could not find so we opted to extend them by adding a couple of butt connectors which need to be inside the teak. So we had to cut more channel into the teak bukhead. Anyway the fan works fine and looks good so that's what matters. In that spot in the original bulkhead, there was an incandescent white round light and the previous owner had cut a hole above in the bulkhead for storing a wisker pole. We covered that area with a piece of teak. Only thing left is plugging a hole with a teak plug where the old wire came out for our old fan.
I like the fact that the new fan can twist any which way and it also has a timer on it. So we can set it for say, three hours, and it will shut off. That is about when I wake up cold and have to get up and shut off the fan.
The wires now all fit fine after digging out the channel.
The original channel was about half that length.
