Santiago to Zihuatanejo, our Southern passage - 2020

This ended up being a motor sail to Zihuatanejo.
We left Santiago about midnight and the seas kicked up a bit with 17-18 knot winds for a couple hours but died back down and eventually after taking some salt water spray over the boat, the sea smoothed out as predicted. It must have been a local weather effect. The seas got better as daylight came and were nice enough and got better as night fell.
January 2020 - We are currently anchored in Zihuatanejo Mexico

There was some shipping traffic around Lazaro Cardenas but no worries.
All in all a nice passage, about 190 km.
We got into Zihuatanejo  about 9:00am. Then about 2pm the cruise ship came in.
Conch sunset on passage to Zihuatanejo .
Bill  on the left was our crew and he has a 39' C&C Landfall in  Paradise Village Marina.
He is looking for some more passage experience and it helped with our watch schedule. Debbie ended up taking the 9-12 watch. Bill the 12-3 am watch. And me the 3-whenever- someone-got-up watch.
We averaged about 6.5 knots.
We were prepared to stop at Maruata camp ground anchorage
but the seas were good and we kept going.

The "Norwegian Gem" - 2500 passengers on-board. A lot of them
were shuttled on-shore to Zihua and also into buses to Ixtapa.
