Stateroom prep for varnishing of the bed area: Part 1 - 2019

We had previously done some gloss on the trim around the mirror and some up by the cabinet above the headboard. Now we did all the satin on the bulkheads and really the whole area. We also redid the cabinet door and strip over the headboard as I did not like the way they came out before. It all looks quite nice now.  We also put new screws in the headboard pad, the fan and one light got because they were loose. We needed one in the Mermaid Marine Air thermostat.  Catch that pun? We did all this and more while on a 3 week house sit near at the El Tigre golf course condo by our boat at Paradise Village Marina.  When the Pettit Z Spar Captain's Varnish - V-975 (satin) varnish was finished we started the gloss trim (Pettit Z Spar Flagship Varnish - 2015 Gloss).

on the cabinet. This pullman berth is great.

While we had the bed apart we went into deep storage under the bed and replaced the flappers on the TW Holding Tank Discharge Pump (macerator).
We also pulled some items out of deep storage that will go to the swap meet in La Cruz Marina 😏
Also we mounted the FX-1 Digital Comfort Control Thermostat. We secured the digital cable to it so it would not hang off the back of the the thermostat and then firmly mounted the FX-1 Digital Comfort Control Thermostat.
The finished area!
This shutter set closes off the pullman berth halfway.
Here it is with both teak shutters closed. You can do this from the pullman berth. This gives you plenty of privacy. You still have two port holes and a big hatch in the pullman berth to either close up or open up as needed for air or light.
Looking forward through an unfocused eye😀
