Whisker pole gets a new hole drilled in it - 2018

We went to the machine shop (Mike's Torno) and had them drill a hole in the whisker pole.

We could have done it but we were picking up a part for John and Jan Cone on m/v Context and thought hey, why not have them drill it. Cost was less than $5.00 USD. What a deal! But we did the measuring and marked the spot and brought the pole etc.

December 2018 -We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by PuertoVallarta)

We had come up with a new way to rig the whisker pole for deploying our Magma Rock N Roll Stabilizer. While testing the deployment we measured the distance to the end of the whisker pole where we deploy the flopper stopper and it was 4 feet 7 inches from the hull. Well it has always worked so good that we never considered changing the stup. Magma recommends 6-8 feet from the hull. So guess what, we needed to add a hole in the whisker pole if we wanted to get it out 6-8 feet. So we did and now it should go out 7 feet.
I am marching the whisker pole up "A" dock
at Paradise Village Marina to our car (VW Jetta).
The Whisker pole is sitting on our dash.
The whisker pole just makes it. We put down part of the
back seat and we had a couple inches to spare😀
Lining the hole up with the other holes.
Here's Enrique - our welder friend from the work we did in 2015 when he was at a different shop.  It was great to see him again, and here at our new shop!!
Precision work!!
