We have been working feverishly away getting ready to leave
the Paradise Village Marina. We have consolidated our three dock boxes into one and another Baja Ha Ha 2013 boat came into the slip next to us. We had to move our spring lines
to let it dock. Not a big deal as we are leaving in four days! We will go to La Cruz marine for two days then out to the La Cruz anchorage for a week or so
before heading south.
We launched the Achilles LSI-310E dingy today with the new chaps all done. Tomorrow we will put the Honda 9.9 hpoutboard on the dinghy and try to start it up. If all goes well we will then
change the oil and filter and be all set for another cruising season.
We did all our engine maintenance on the Beta Marine 38 hp engine in the
boat yesterday and that was a bit of work. It is about 96 in the boat during
the day. We did not put the Mermaid Marine Air AC on because we needed to run the engine and it
would heat up the boat anyway. Plus we were doing lot of in and out of the boat stuff also.
We got the oil and filter changed and the impeller. We also
put in a new zinc. We cleaned the other Racor filter (took it apart and
cleaned the bowl and put in a new filter) so we have two spanking clean Racor
filters to start out with.
We had just put in a new fuel filter.
On and on it goes. We took the forward Shade Tree off today
and will wash it up tomorrow.
We developed a leak in the galley sink in one of the drains
so that needs a fixing.
We got our re-install of our replacement under warranty
shower sump pump done. The WhaleIC pump we moved and had to re-plumb it and
wire it. Moved it from the bilge in the state room to behind the salon and put
in a new through hull and valve.
Just finished moving our anchor wash down pump also.
So as you can here, we have been real busy and will post
some pic’s soon.
We left On the Baja Ha Ha 2012 with 60 movies and had seen most of them. This time
we are leaving with a thousand movies and have not seen most of them!
Also we are leaving from Puerto Vallarta Mexico not San Diego, USA so we are about 1200 NM closer! We bee going about 600 NM south and back so a total of about 1200 NM again.
Gee this is wearing me out.
We still need to winterize the AC units and un-pickle the
water maker.
Everywhere we look on the boat we see improvements we have made since last winter and new installs for making our life yet even easier while we cruise the Gold Coast.
