We have mounted or Blue Sky Energy inc Solar Boost 3024iL DUO where the old battery charger was moved to, behind the nav station, into the lazarett.
This way we can open the louvered nav station door and see the digital display on the solar controller. We are trying to keep the electronics as behind the scenes as possible. At least the little used ones.
We unbolted the old charger and laid it down on the hull. We ran the wires from the solar panel to the solar controller.
The wires had to be cut so we could locate the plugs for them under the dodger vinyl. We used heat shrink butt connectors 10 gauge and liquid electrical tape for the connections.
Also we had to drill a hole into the cockpit coming for the wires to get to the controller, ouch!
I ordered new 6 AWG wires from Genuinedealz and we will install them tonight.
Then we will completely disconnect the old charger but leave it ready in case?I forgot to get a battery heat sensor so I just ordered one from Blue Sky Energy Inc.
Still need to hook up new charger.
