New galley sink 1 1/4 inch thru hull and valve etc purchased - 2023

This is the original setup. This was done by Islander Yachts about 40 years ago and it is below the water line. We think it is time to replace the setup. We did replace the hose back in 2011. We plan on doing a bottom job in April of 2024 possibly. That would be a good time to replace the 1 1/4 thru hull. We thought we would bring this new setup below, back to La Paz, our new home port when we return this season.

Weare house sitting in San Diego SoCal now.

Also, Islander put the 45 deg elbow on before the valve. Now I believe the valve should go on the thru hull first then the other parts, coupler (week spot) then the 45 deg elbow and then the hose barb.  Now I can see why Islander put it together this way, to keep the setup away from the shaft area. We will give it a try putting it together with the valve first and see how it is.

We purchased this setup at San Diego Marine Exchange.
This is how the 1 1/4 thru hull setup is now installed in the boat.

This is how we would like to install it. With the valve right after the thru hull then the rest of the items.
Here you can see the week spot, the thin-walled connector.
We did pick up the spacer a few days later.
