We did some motor work on our Beta Marine 38 hp diesel motor and had Luis do the summer maintenance. That includes changing all fluids and filters, cleaning heat exchanger and new "O" rings etc. He also checked the transmission fluid - it was clean and the correct amount.
Running the Beta Marine 38 hp diesel motor with fresh water through it and impeller talk.
There were two bolts that keep coming loose on our Beta Marine starboard forward motor mount.
Not that easy to get at to tighten. We tried putting J-B Weld on the head of the bolts but it would eventually break loose. We also tired two part epoxy but with the same result. So often before leaving an anchorage I would need to check the two bolts for tightness. A pain!
This time we had Luis do it. He used this J-B Weld thread lock. He removed the two bolts and put the thread lock in the holes and tightened them up. Said we are good to go! That was the way to go this time!
This year (2020) we also sent out the port alternator and had it checked out. Last year we had sent out the starboard one.
