Re-furbished State Room Imtra LED reading lights - 2017

Hobart LED with switch, chrome, 10-30VDC, 1 x 3W

Our dorads, which one is over the cabinet at the head of the bed in the stateroom, leaked.
We fixed the dorads and now needed to fix the lights. The water went down into the cabinet and then into the lights. The water wrecked the inside of the lights and one switch on one of the lights.

We are currently house sitting in Pacific Beach, San Diego CA

Years ago when we bought these new.

Here they are installed in the stateroom...I did not care for their brightness.
They are brighter then what we wanted for this small space.

One of the two lights we installed under the cabinet in the stateroom.

Shoreline Marine LED Companion Way Light $7.00

I cut open the Shoreline Marine LED Companion Way Light  
and put the 3 LED board on the outside of the reflecting cone and hot glued it on.

I removed the bad switch (on\off) from one light. New switch shown.

We are house sitting in Pacific Beach San Diego and the only 12 volt source I could find was a charger for a flash light. By connecting the red and ground wires to the two metal charging prongs I could test the light.

Shorted out (on\off) switch.

The old switch is hanging out and the new one is in its place.

We went to our son-in-laws house "David" and he soldered the new switch up for me.

We had run the new wires from the new LEDs up through the lights.
Then David soldered the positive wires to the switch's.

Ok all done and I like the amount of light they put out now.
I will mount them back up when we get back to s\v Elegant'sea in Mexico!

And yet some other parts checked off the list for the next cruising season.
