Debbie put on the ICOM SSB antenna wire up on the back stay.
She used the “Split Bolt Connector” she purchased
at Home Depot.
June 2012 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA
She put a loop in the
antenna wire where tie connects to the back stay.
It was recommended by the KISS SSB people to leave off the
tape as it holds water and just leave it out in the air.
Also they said to just wire tie the ICOM 802 SSB antenna wire to the
back stay. No need for stand offs.
We have seen the antenna wire mounted to the back stay in
many different ways. This ay was recommended and seems better than hose clamps
and lots of tape. They all seem to work though.
Debbie ran the wire
down the back stay to the cockpit where it sits now. We need to run it through
the stern cam cleat where the solar panel wires go into the boat.
