Dish towel holder replaced, sort of - 2012

May 2012 - Marina Kona Kai Shelter Island San Diego, CA
The backing we removed so we could put insulation in the hole, the refer is on the other side.

Dow Blue Board insulation added. We want a two hook towel rack.
The galley dish tower holder was replaced kind of. We took off the old one, smoothed out the Dow Blew board insulation we drilled the hole with and screwed in the piece of teak wood. Previously we had drilled out the screw holes (two) and then drilled again with a larger drill bit for the teak plug.
We had found some plus and used a drill bit to fit the teak plug not the other way around. Just to keep it simple. There was no need to counter sink the screw hole as the screw sat in there nicely.
We added some wood glue and put the plug in tapping it lightly.
When the glue dries we will cut the plus off with a chisel.
We or I never did any engineering to see if the piece of teak was large enough to hold a two prong hook, oops.
Also never took the time to see if the oven door would open OK with a hook and towels on the piece of teak, oops.

With a washing with a wet rag and then some teak oil to match up with the rest of the teak it will blend in nicely, we hope. Some day this will all get varnished and look real nice!

 Hoping to get lucky 😁

Looks good and OK, that’s enough hopping!
