You need to look through all the other stuff to see it :)The boat hook we use is a Shurhold. We had a sliding one but it is not safe using it, at least not for me. It would collapse and I would fall with it.
September 2010 - - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA I usually pull with the boat hook for getting in and out of our dock. That way if and when I fall I fall on my ass. If you are pushing and as I have done on our old Catalina 30’ boat and the boat hook slips of collapses you fall over toward the dock or water.
For the collapsing boat hook reason I bought a Shurhold and a Shurhold pole. When we bought our current boat the pole was too short so we got a longer one. They are very nice and we have lots of attachments for them. The smaller pole we use for sweeping, moping etc and the long one for the boat hook.
We also like that it does multiple jobs.We keep the boat hook on the life line stanchions. It is a handy place and not in the way.
You gotta just love those old wooden ones. Wish we could make one work for us.
We have a short pole that extends and then a longer one that extends
Do not use this much any more. We got it to clean the water line with a 3M pad Shurhold has.
Also we used it with the wash pad for the dodger windows. Now we use Home Depot rags.
We use this hook a lot. I will be getting another to use with the rode houser in the anchor locker to flatten out the chain.
We have a few of these and use them a lot. Mostly just two. The heavy white one and the soft yellow one.
This is good for washing the stern
Have not used the gaf hook yet (fish hook for us) but hope to do so in Baha
Same with the fish net
Not sure if we still have the white one. It takes a long time to dry out and smells
We got the yellow one for the teak decks
