New Harkin ratcheting furler block
Debbie picked up a new Harkin ratcheting furler block at Sailing
Supply. It is a ball earing block and will be nicer under load. Our old Harkin
block still works but it is not as nice. A back up for sure though.

Replace our two 120 volt lamps - stateroom lamp
In a marina in San Diego CA.
We are getting ready to replace our two 120 volt lamps.
This sail lamp is in the stateroom by the foot of the bed.
We are looking at this 12 volt DC LED lamp as the replacement. Going on 12 volts you know :)
Debbie ordered the lamp from www.go2marine.com 800-998-9508.
This LED light is a match for our two IMTRA reading lights in the stateroom over the head of the bead..

Venice LED with Switch, Stainless Steel, Warm
Venice LED with Switch, Stainless Steel, Warm White LED, 10-30VDC, IP20
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Venice Wall Appliqué is outfitted with an attractive low-profile half-shade permitting secure close-to-wall placement; an often desirable feature of light fixtures on board marine craft. Its construction is of cast polished stainless steel guaranteeing years of service in the marine environment. This model Venice is supplied with our own constant-current warm white multiple-array LED “tower” bulb, ILTW1142-SMD. It replicates the color, intensity and hue of a traditional incandescent bulb without the IR or UV heat, while consuming just 15% of the power! The Venice is also equipped with a built-in on/off switch for convenient control at the fixture.

Furling Genoa ratchet block...
So we have gone sailing twice in the last three weeks and
furling the Genoa is not been easy. First of the ratchet block was not positioned correctly
on the stanchion. From all the project work it had gotten moved. Then I came to
realize that we needed to switch the block from ratchet mode to freewheeling
when furling the Genoa. I do not remember having to do that before.
This will be used a
lot so Debbie is going to stop at Sailing Supply and see if we cannot get a new
Harking ball bearing ratchet block for this purpose.

Two Genoa sheets
We picked up two Genoa sheets at West Marine(WM). WM had a
good sale and we were tired of dealing with on line stores as what we got in
the shipping was not what we thought we ordered and we wanted them now. We had the ends whipped just to save us time from doing it. We like the ends whipped.

Autopilot support installed
Autopilot Jim came by with his helper and fiber glassed in the ¾ plywood
support piece for the under deck Garmin class A autopilot. We will through bolt the Garmin autopilot from the cockpit to the other side of this plywood.
This drive unit creates a lot of force so the plywood is braced by the wood not the hull. The plywood is glassed under the cockpit sole port side.
We did end up having to pull all the wiring, bus and terminator block down from under the cockpit sole for the job :( .
Jim's double endear Tayana 37' sloop another Bob Perry design.
Jim lives on a boat at our marina with his wife and. At first we were going to get Kemo to do the work but Rocco the Rigger said he was available. That there was this guy named Jim who did good work and was a straight up guy. That seems to be the case, no non-sense and employed a helper who did the glassing work.
The bow of our neighbors center cockpit sloop, looking over this 1968 Cal in perfect condition.
Cal John owns this :)
He also added a hull
brace for the plywood.

Then I discovered he lived here one dock away. We had chatted once about some posts I had made on Sailnet.com’s forum. He had asked if I was SanDiegoChip and yes I was!
So now it is getting the template back from Dynamic Dave and size it up as the next phase in this project.
Our closest neighbor, the helper.

Jim's helper is also our dock neighbor and lives two boats over with his wife and two kids and dog. We got the whole neighborhood involved here :)
They removed the scupper which was beat up so we are replacing it.
This is some real heavy fiberglass matting they put over the fiberglass cloth.

Debbie's labeling method.
Debbie de-frosted the refer. We still get some frost from the front freezer lid. We seem to have the back on sealed well now and do not get frost in that area. As we work on the lids we get them sealed better.

Blue Seas electrical panel labels for our nav station
Debbie picked up some
Blue Seas electrical panel labels for our nav station. This one package (DC
Basic) has a lot of the labels we can use. If we like them then we will get the
others also. We do not have any off the wall stuff on the nav station, or at
least on the breakers that need labels :).
