This will replace our old light. I used to think it did not matter that we had a halogen bulb because we would be running the motor and it would be charging the batteries anyway at night. How ever as we have learned with about 500 ah of batteries that it still cost ah and too much for us. When we have our chart plotter on for our radar and are stemming at night the batteries can still get dragged down. We have a 100 amp alternator and now 480 ah house batteries. Even with the AGM 520 ah house batteries we had they still would eventually drag down below 70% and they charge faster than the wet cells. That is with the radar spinning up every 20 min for a check. So new LED deck and steaming light.
