This is a fairly big and deep crack. It has not been leaking (because I filled it with caulking a term fix) but it could start to.

It is obviously not good to have water penetratingly the below the fiberglass so to make sure it does not we are epoxying it up. We used a two part epoxy and I cleaned it out with a dremel tool and an X-Acto knife. Let it dry our for some days then used the epoxy.
It may need some touch up but it is now sealed.
Our bot is over 40 years old so this is not really any suprise.
