We discovered we do not have the clearance from the end of the boom to the solar panels. We could I suppose lower the forward end of the solar panels but I do not see the point just to add the Boom bail. We have done fine without it so far, years of sailing. We will see how it gos now with our new Garhauer RIgid Boom VangRV-20-1SL and if we could use it this coming cruising season.
We have also thought about putting the ball up by the mast on the boom for a hand hold for sail handling in rougher seas.

July 2018- We are now Currently in Ajijic which is a town by Lake Chapala ,Mexico house sitting.We have also thought about putting the ball up by the mast on the boom for a hand hold for sail handling in rougher seas.
