Beta 38 hp engine zinc leaks - found out why, NPT or BSP - 2018

Ok we may have found out why the Beta engine zinc leaks. It is because at one time or another I did buy other zincs, from Jorge (SYS) in Paradise Village Marina and in the US. These seem not to have the BSP thread but the NPT thread.

JC at West Marine in Point Loma (San Diego) just happened to have a Lewmar H3 Anchor Windless (like the one we have) on the shelf so I could see what size the wires are coming out of the bottom of the unit.

We have farmed out our cap rail varnish and caulking in Marina Vallarta - 2018

 This  happened in March/April 2018 - in Marina Vallarta, Banderas Bay Mexico (Puerto Vallarta Jalisco)

 Yes we have "hired out" to fix up our teak cap rail. It needs some lovin' and we decided it was time to start farming out some of these projects. They are just going to repair the Sikkens Cetol where it has bubbled. They will sand the whole cap rail and repair the bubbled-up areas and then put on a new coat of varnish over the whole cap rail. It may take a few coats where the Sikkens Cetol has come off or has been sanded off to feather it in.

More sewing on companionway screen - 2015

End of September 2015 - At private slip in Nuevo Vallarta in Banderas Bay, MexicoThis was never posted so now it is. 

 

This companionway screen is getting close to being finished. We have been using it anyway at times and it has been a great help keeping the mosquitos out and one time a swarm of bees!

Replacing alternator(s) belts on Beta 38 hp diesel engine - 2018

Replacing alternator(s) belts on Beta Marine 38 hp diesel engine.

Beta 38 hp with two alternator belts. Want to replace them but one will not come off. Solution is to buy replacement 1\2 or larger than the one we are having problems with.

Beta stack tube O-rings are not sealing - Heat Exchanger removed- 2 - 2018

This is the affected area of the heat exchanger that is preventing 
the stack tube O-rings from sealing. It seems to be scored up too much.

I liked these so much we ordered another set.

This hatch strut has not been working for a while now. 

Added two bronze valves for the Beta engine coolant to the water heater - 2018

This has been a long time coming but finally we added a couple bronze valves to the Beta cooling system antifreeze that runs up through the water heater and the accumulator tank and back to the heat exchanger.
