How quickly I forget. I was trying to get the bowel off the Racor fuel filter using a screw driver wishing Racor had used bolts. After taking a picture of the fastener my folly was revealed! They did use bolts. This is an annual affair so I am allowed to forget 😊
A selfi!.
There was not much water in the bowel. There was not too much dirt but in the filter it was really dirty. Our 80 gal SS tank has baffles and is hard to get at with no access port. You need to go through the fuel gauge. We have doe this once when we had the fuel polished but could not get all the sediment out. It has never caused a problem but does get down into the filters. This time w cruised for 6 months without having to drain water or sediment from the Racor fuel filters. Perhaps when we change the engine zinc (about 3 months into cruising season) we should change the Racor fuel filter?
