At the El Cid Park across from the El Cid Marina there were weddings
are a lot. Some were like concerts. The ferry was the way to get to the park\wedding.
Around Thanksgiving time we were in Mazatlán, Mexico 2012.
Our stay in Mazatlán, Mexico was just what we needed. We got some rest, saw some sights and had some fun. El Cid Marina offers a couple free movies a week and free popcorn. We did that.
We tried to go bowling at the Super Bowl bowling alley across the street, but it was constantly closed. We had bowled there years ago.
One thing we wanted to do was roller blade the board walk, that we did, the whole way to the end. It was fun and, on the way, back we stopped for lunch only after lunch there was no way I could blade anymore, so we took the bus back. Each day that we did boat work we would try to stop by 11:00 am and do fun things after that because of the heat of the day.
The pool at the other El Cid Marina, the one on the beach.
For instance, today we changed the oil in the gear box of the Beta Marine engine. Debbie put netting over the shelving in the aft hanging locker in the
state room so items would not fall on the Mermaid Marine Air unit. We washed the boat
and used some FSR to bring the boat back to life after all the work we have
done on it. The decks etc. looked bad from the muddy anchoring in San Diego and
other chemical spills and my sloppy Cetol work. The other day we re-wired the AirBreeze wind generator to the battery buses and put on some screens on the port holes.
On Thanksgiving the El Cid Marina took out all the Baja HaHa’ers to a Thanksgiving dinner. There were about twelve of us. That included
an open bar. It was real nice of them.
The place they took us too was in old town at the square.
We had been there before and had eaten at that same restaurant, imagine that!
To get there we all piled into the back of two pickup trucks cabs and
it was a fun ride to and from.
To the lft are Ken and Nancy from s\v Gitane.
We are getting ready to leave Mazatlan and head to San Blas, Nayarit.
Well a bay by San Blas. We will need to blow
up the dinghy as it is still up on the fore deck as we have not needed it.
Oogachaka - Krogen Widebody 42
Ken and Patty on Oogachaa became friends we bumped into at several places. There were three power boats on the Baja Ha Ha 2012.
And another nice sunset in Mazatlán, Mexico !
So lots to do at San Blas, Nayarit and lots to learn.
San Blas, Nayarit in about 17 hrs. away and will be another over
nighter because we want to arrive at day light. We will leave at about noon on
Monday (11-26-12) or so.
