Punta De Mita, Mexico is at the beginning of Banderas Bay.
This was a planned stop and we anchored here because we could not make Nuevo Vallarta before dark. Tomorrow on to Nuevo Vallarta and Paradise Village Marina
We had a nice shower on the hook thanks to the hot water heated by the engine and now for some dinner.
We will be spending the night here on the hook and then on to Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta. At Nuevo Vallarta we will visit Paradise Village Marina to see if we want that marina as our summer-over spot. Then we would have Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta as our playground for the summer (hurricane season).
The short eight hour passage from Chacala to Punta De Mita was not bad. We saw some whales as we were trying to calibrate our auto pilot a mile or so out of Chacala. We were just drifting around and one looked as though it changed course and was coming at us so we made a move out of the area. Also by Punta Mita we saw whales and a sea turtle.
Our auto pilot is having rudder sensor issues. Still does not work! However most all other systems working! We were "on the hook" for a week in Chacala without ever having to start the engine or use the Honda EU2000i generator as all of our power needs have been met by our solar panels! (And the same was the case in MatanchenBayy/San Blas, Nayarit.) Thank you mother nature/Sun!!
