As a young man I worked in the US Merchant Marine and sailed on some oil tankers and worked the tugs in Boston Harbor. Always the dream job was to get a job on one of the research ships out of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. They go to nice ports and there were men and women on board, scientist and such. It never happened but this would be along the same thinking, I would expect.
