We were staying in one of these townhouses.
This was a good place to recover from my hip surgery. All the niceties of a house.
Like all the house sits, it has modern appliances, A/C, washer/dryer etc.
There were good walking trails around and it was mostly up and down hills
so the walking helped me heal up. We were doing 2 1/2 mile walks
in the morning and shorter ones at night.
We left our house sit in San Marcos, CA and went to the next
one which was back in Chatsworth, CA. We, at this point, are ready to go home (back
to our sail boat s\v Elegant’sea in Mexico) but we do have one more house sit
to go to. The next one is for about two weeks in Palm Springs, CA. There, we
will sell our car and at the end of the sit will fly back to Mazatlan. This
whole trip to the US has been a resounding success! We had saved up all winter while at anchor at
various places around the Mexican Rivera and came to the US with a place to
stay for two weeks or so and ended up staying for five months for free and
buying the used car to get around in. Getting a new hip for me was our goal and
it was more then met by the VA!
Of course, we do not
know what next summer looks like but… now I think I know what I would/might
like it to look like - say a few months in the US visiting (while house sitting)
and some purchasing? Then a month or so in the mountains of Mexico house sitting and apartment\condo
rental (it is low season in Summer). Then a couple months at a condo by the boat (summer rates)?
We will purchase a Mexican-plated car next summer with nice A/C etc.
We need to have a car with Mexican plates as we live on the mainland and we are
“Permanent Residents” of Mexico. That's the law and we do not want to bend or break the law here.
The rest of the non-hurricane season we, of course, will be
cruising!
Ad pictures for selling the car. We spent a couple of days cleaning it up.
Harley and Sam were less than excited about the car cleaning.
In Chatsworth (LA) Debbie cleaning the trunk.
After playing ball the boys were hot and tired 😀
