Propane locker

We bought a couple SS brackets to hold the propane locker to the back of the refer.
Also got the screws but used them up on the wiring, need more!

Galley foot pump rot repair - 2010

We did discover the rot under the Whale galley foot pump was not from the foot pump as I had thought. Damn, because that would have been an easy fix. We re-built the foot pump a long time ago. The water coming out of it when in use in to the galley sink stunk.

Engine room\wiring and plumbing clean up, Debbie in bunny suit - 2010

We want to make sure the bilge pump stays in operation though during the clean up.

Over head galley light change? - 2010

The overhead light in the galley has been something we have been trying to replace for a while now.

Electrical work

We came to the boat on Saturday 121810 so it was a shorter work day on boat projects.
We did some more electrical work. We labeled most of the wires added a few more and got the two buses working. The positive and negative 130 amp busses. We wired up the nave station light to the buses and it is a fun gadget. We will do some more wire tie downs and some more labeling soon.

Starting battery moved so we can remove shelf - 2010

San Diego 2010
We moved the starting battery and jumper cables out of their location. Now we can remove the shelf and have access to the engine room area for cleaning and replacing a couple items on the engine installation.

Bus cables arrived

They arrived 12/16/02 - They do ship fast which we like.
A black 4 awg 13’3” with 3/8 for 600 amp buss connection and a ¼ for the 130 amp buss connection.
A 10’ red 4 awg 3/8 for the neg 600 amp buss connection and a 5/16 to the fuse holder.
Also a 4” 4 awg with 5/16 from fuse to a ¼ on the buss.

Shower seat done

The shower seat in the head is done. It still needs to have some of the blue tape removed and some cleaning up but the varnishing is done.
Satin on the top of the seat and gloss on the seat trim.

The white speckles are just dirt\dust - blew right off

Gauges gone

We removed the hour meter and the voltage regulator gauge.
The voltage regulator gauge will be redundant and the hour meter will go to Dave who bought the Perkins.
Debbie had to once again get into the lazerett and get up and under the back of the nav station to get these out.>

Nav station light

Installed the new nav station light. Did not get it wired up yet as we need to install the two 130 amp buses first.
We think this will be a good spot.
Does not junk up the nav station much and it seems very useful here.

Shower curtain parts

We got the shower curtain strips to be sewn on for hanging the shower curtain in the head. We previously got the hangers for the rod on the headliner.
Now to get a shower curtain and have Debbie work her magic.
We got an extra length incase in the future we want to replace the shower curtain.

More varnishing

The grate was done but I spilled a drop of varnish on it and drooled some from the bottom side onto the top side.
I had to re-do some spots on the top of the grate.
The cabinet over the bead got its second coat and is now up for a sanding.
The doorway had two three coats so it was time for a sanding. It needed it as it was a bit uneven because of the grain sticking out. A good sanding made it smooth again. Hate to see that nice varnish hitting the deck but if we want it smooth then it has to be done.

A good sanding it got. Before the wipe down with Interlux 333

Looking up from the bed

Ventilation

The boat needed some ventilation. Not allowing rain in or bugs and being in San Diego it was not a problem leaving some opening. No big rain storms or any weather of a serious nature. So I made a companion way board screen. I was routering it on the finger pier next to our boat and one of thos not so courteous boaters went flying by in the 5 mph zone leaving a wake that shacked the pier and caused me to put a divot in the plywood. I lost interest after that so I never painted it or put trim on the inside over the staples. It works fine though. Could be someday I will re-do it and make it better but I doubt it.
 Used fiberglass screen.
OK I will not take the credit dam it. Got the idea from a Freeport over at the South Gate Yacht club.

Refer build

We have not made any progress on the refer. We did get the drain hole epoxied over. Soon we will team up (Debbie and I) and install the insulation. We have the necessary tools and products it has been time that has stopped us. Ever onward!

Solar connector wrenches

Got the two wrenches for the solar panel connectors (the wires connecting the panels). This is one more thing that will make life a bit easier.

Oceanair Skyscreen installed in stateroom - 2010

We got the Oceanair Skyscreen installed in the state room over the bed. It will make life easier and more enjoyable. It was flipped around last time and we wanted to have it so the shade blocks the sun and can be adjusted as the sun goes down. That is the way the others are. We waited till we re-built the hatch to change it.

Stove temperature gauge

Our oven temperature gauge was installed by Debbie. It is supposed to be where you put the food at.
 Debbie then made brownies, yummy!
She tested the oven temperature and said the oven is running hot.
We will test it some more (yummy!) and if it turns out that is the case then we will see if we can adjust the burner or whatever.

Faucet came

The Delta touch faucet arrived.

It cam in about 40 pieces with an extensive install and assembly instructions.
Guess we will have something to do at home over the holidays J
They threw in a faucet cleaning brush J

Did good wiring on our Xantrex 2000 charger inverter - 2010

Got a lot of wiring done.
Removed all the wires off the batteries and installed them on the busses. Had to drill out some connectors. Used a hand clamp to hold them and turned the torque down of the drill. Worked good.
