Summer maintenance on engines - Beta 38 hp diesel and Honda 9.9 hp outboard. - 2019

 In the bag is our Beta Marine alternator for charging the house batteries (we have two) and also our raw water pump. The alternator is going to the shop to get checked out and the raw water pump is going to a different shop for rebuild. This year we are having the work done instead of doing it all ourselves😎

We have moved slips three times in two weeks - 2019


 We are being moved by the Paradise Village work crew with a panga. We are going up the estuary to a nice safe spot for hurricane season. A couple few months we will not be here so we want the boat to be safe. Also we are doing some caprail and other work and there is little sugre, wind, or wakes up here.

 The teak caprail is all stripped and ready for sanding.This section is the stern steps and starboard side caprail. That includes the calking on both sides.

Stateroom varnishing of the bed area - Part 2- 2019

 The first coat of satan varnish is on the head board area in the stateroom.  Debbie did all the blue taping while I worked on the  caprail project.

  We are currently house sitting in a condo at the El Tigre Golf Course Paradise Village, Nuevo Vallarta . This gives us the opportunity to remove the foam matress and the FROLI® bed springs. This picture is of the headboard area.

Rebuilding the chain locker/anchor chain roller to windlass - 2019

This is what the roller setup for the 3\8 Acco chain that holds down the chain to the Lewmar H3 Anchor Windlass looks like. This was on the boat (not this windlass) when we purchased the boat. It worked ok with our Lewmar H3 Anchor Windlass but could have been lower. 

Head sink drain replacement to the through hull valve- 2019

 This project we have been going to do for seven years! When we originally had the boat surveyed for purchase, the surveyor said the original setup with the plastic pipes had to be changed out for flexible tubing.

Normanly I tend to sleep a bit past 8:00 am and at times when it is light out early I like get out and paddle board.

Barra de Navidad to Puerto Vallarta Passage (Chamela Bay to PV slog) - 2019

 Sailing about 5-10 nm outside of Chamela Bay (town - Punta Perula) and about 5 nm North of it, we heard our Whale Gulper IC Diaphragm Bilge Pump start pumping. Holy cow! what can that be from???😜 After a look at the shaft, rudder post, etc. we found the leak.

Teak cockpit grate washed with Te-Ka then Teak Wonder applied - 2019

First we washed our teak cockpit grate with Te-Ka then after it dried, we put on a coat of Teak Wonder using a paper towel....we were short on rags.
