OK after talking to Garmin support about the chart plotter (they are real nice) I
found out that the two pieces I thought we useless are needed for the wind
sensor. One is a in –line lightning arrester and the other is an in-line
terminator saving a "T" connector for other uses :) Guess I should have read the instructions for the wind sensor. It looked so simple
though and it works the way we have it connected, just not after a lightning strike :) and who needs to save money by not using the "T" connector provide! The gray one is the lightning arrest-er.
